Having survived so much so far…. I’m a little sad that she appears to turn into a Victim, rather than surviving to tell the tale herself….

Unfortunately the UK government stamped out all chances of trance dancing on a mass scale when they introduced the U.K. Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1992, was it the drugs or the effect that the music was having on hundreds of thousands of people? Having attended a few myself I know what I choose to believe…

However, no laws can prohibit or extinguish the effect that music has on the soul, let alone on your kitchen floor

your book is beautiful, but one thing…you present her as an immigrant girl, but what about the other aspects of being an immigrant. even though sherine/athena is of european decent, she’s still from a middle eastern upbringing…i’m an immigrant myself, and i know that the feelings of an immigrant and their lifestyle is too strong and important to be put aside. maybe it’s too early, or maybe it’s because of this new format,that i don’t feel its particular presence in the story and in athena’s character yet… and maybe it’s too early or maybe even this aspect of her life isn’t going to be included in the story?!? but the story’s still great…i can’t wait for the next chapter, and i can’t wait for the release of the book, though i may have to wait along time, i’m in ukraine at the moment, and i don’t think it’ll be released here for a long time

As compelling as the story line is, I am deeply touched by the compassion you express for each character in this story. Everybody is going through their own things and there are so many aspects for even on one single fact. I just think it is wonderful that you can express these issues in a form of art and throw many questions on many levels to your readers in loving ways. Personally, especially some expressions and particular words that are used in the ninth chapter still keep giving me chills. All I can say for that now is, probably “thank you“. So, thank you very much, Mr. Coelho. I am looking forward to the following chapters.

I am more connected to the “wording” in this book, than I did of some other books of your previous period…
(I discovered your writings in the camino a Compostela in 1991)

I walked the Camino all the way from France, three times, and each of those particular times, someone had told me that you had passed by either the “day before or the month before”..it was bizarre..almost like a myth…

In this chapter I was very moved by your comments on ‘dancing”
(I am writing a book ” The Alchemy of Bomba Music”…It is a collection of personal blogs concerning “self-realization” as a Puerto Rican, in the learning of one of our folk tradition: Bomba dancing, drumming and singing…)
